The un-co-op-er-a-tive

So... What is the Un-co-operative?

Speaking on behalf of the multi-legged partnership... We like to think of it as an artistic co-op where the participants are under no obligation. Where frequency and depth of affiliation and involvement is however and whenever one wishes. No strings, really - as CHR projects will largely be matters of  invitation, as well as open to inquiry and 'suggestion box' type consideration; not to mention spiraling outward from the desirably benevolent whims of management.

When a project is decided upon, loose affiliates can either be approached for potential involvement, at their choice, or they can offer their participation, either within their personal areas of expertise, or with the openness to participate in whatever areas assistance is needed in. -- Additionally, while it is desirable that operatives of the "co" commit to a project to fruition, the "un" of it is in open-heartedly not impeding  people from stepping back as personal limitations or need arises.

Ultimately - It's about mutual goodwill and the path of least resistance so that things are accomplished with a relaxed level of joy and satisfaction.  At its core : people are more important than things - and the main goal is to nurture and encourage our tribe of artists in the free flow of creativity - and to help one another toward personal and mutual fulfillment.

Since sprouthood I have been aware that very few people succeed in a vacuum. It's usually too cramped a space and quite dirty in there for accomplishing very much. -- I've found it far better to align with like minds to achieve a common goal, where all involved willingly give and take toward all sharing in the results. The ideal is to help one another's dreams come true, without anyone feeling left out or "used" while being ignored in their personal visions.

Our tribe - as I call it - is rooted in relationships -- friendships and longstanding histories. We've already spent decades recreating and working together in numerous circumstances - from spontaneously winging it, to hard-fought and labor intensive, meticulously created works. In this, we should all, by now, love and trust one another enough to be happy to work together toward seeing each other succeed without unnecessary pressure. What better motivation is there to have together than to love each other and love the individual and collective work that we do.

Whether musician, fine artist, writer, poet, thespian, dancer, filmist, photoist, or 'other' - artists are a fascinating, diverse, and at times, an unpredictably capricious bunch. Such are the elusive whims of creativity, where often the more unique and potentially innovative moments of it are unexpected and require a delicate matter of balance to secure.  It surely is a perk of this digital age to enable some near-instant gratification in having easier access to the web wide world. May this endeavor of ours be a way to connect our un-co-operative collective with the properly curious partakers who are wired to enjoy what we do and have done - many of us starting numerous years ago in a more tube, transistor, and cellulose acetate driven age.
